Salt-water
Crocodile or Indo-Pacific Crocodile
The largest of all crocodiles. It has been known to exceed 25 feet. It has an extremely wide range as the name indicates. Indo-Pacific crocodiles have been found that have traveled more than 800 miles across ocean waters from one island to another. It's diet consists of fish, including sharks, and large mammals including water buffalo and humans! (This species of crocodiles may be responsible for as many as 1000 human deaths each year across their large range.) They are endangered in parts of its range due to hunting for skins. This species is now commercially farmed. |
